Catalonia once again to host international congress on truffle

Trufforum, which brings together producers and influencers, will return to Vic after the successful 2019 event

Vic, 4 December 2019. For the second year running Catalonia will host Trufforum - the international event for the black truffle sector which returns to Vic next January. Following the success of the first Trufforum held in the county town of Osona and promoted by the European Mycological Institute (EMI), this year it will take place in the El Sucre building on 25 and 26 January 2020.

With free entry for both traders and the general public, the aim of this fair is to encourage responsible use of European truffle in domestic and professional kitchens. The Trufforum-Vic 2020 will therefore include various areas and stages to showcase the qualities of a product that is both select and highly valuable, not only in the kitchen but also for the local area.




Over two days truffle experts from all over Catalonia and Europe will focus on a product that we still have a lot to learn about. The forum includes a Truffle Market for retail purchases, informative workshops led by Michelin-star chefs Nandu Jubany and Oriol Rovira, Truffforum Market, and Trufforum PRO, with scientists who are renowned in the fields of black truffle production and climate change.           

Vic is to host this prestigious event again, which will also feature the Truffle-Hunting Dog Championships of Catalonia in Vic's main town square. 

International interest in the last edition in addition to the involvement of the organising institutions (the Catalan Regional Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Food; Vic Town Council; the European Mycological Institute (EMI); the Catalan Forestry Science and Technology Centre (CTFC), and the Vic Exchange, linked to the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce, were instrumental in the Trufforum-Vic returning to the county town of Osona.
