Catalonia Food and Gastronomy HUB
The Catalonia Food & Gastronomy Hub stand showcased Catalonia's gastronomic and agri-food potential at Alimentaria, one of the world's most important trade fairs in the sector. With 4,500 exhibiting companies and 150,000 visitors from 156 countries around the world, it is an excellent opportunity for the agri-food and gastronomy sector in Catalonia.
Catalonia, its land, products and the people who work with them, from a commercial standpoint and all brought together in 320m2 at Alimentaria. All seen through the eyes of the agents, producers, processors and chefs who make the Catalan agri-food sector one of the most pioneering in Europe. All of this potential can be found at the Catalonia Food&Gastronomy HUB stand at the Alimentaria trade fair. This stand gives a summarised display of the good and best of a land with an agri-food turnover of €25 Bn per year, employing some 80,000 professionals in 2,500 food and beverage producing industries and 3,700 exporting companies.
This is a meeting place for importers and producers - a true showcase of Catalan agri-food strength and a container for its production, export and business capacity. An audiovisual stand shows the entire food chain, from the most macro level (landscape, territory) to the raw materials (product) and how they are prepared (processing), via the kitchen from where they are taken to the table: from field to gourmet fork. There are also live explanations from such renowned chefs as Adrián Marín, Rafael Muria, Pep Nogué, Ada Parellada, Jeroni Castell, Alain Guiard, Ricard Borrás, Martí Rosàs, Albert Mendiola and Rafa Zafra, who give cooking demos, as well as videos featuring Ferran Adrià, Joan Roca, Josep Roca, Carme Ruscalleda, Jordi Cruz, Paco Pérez, Sergio and Javier Torres, Fina Puigdevall, Nandu Jubany, Ferran Centelles and Christian Escribà.
Alimentaria is one of the largest trade fairs in the sector. The Catalonia Food & Gastronomy HUB stand is a strong commitment to raising awareness of our products, and showcases a wide range of cheeses, dried sausages, wines and cavas, halal cuisine and fine food products.
As part of its strong commitment to boost trade and internationalisation of the Catalan agri-food sector, the Catalan Regional Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Food, through Prodeca, coordinates the participation of about 200 Catalan firms under the umbrella of Catalonia in the various show areas: Lands of Spain, Intervin, Intercarn and Interlac.
