The Japan-Europe free trade agreement will save the Catalan agri-food industry €12.5 Mn
In December 2017, the President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker announced that the final details of the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) between the EU and Japan had been agreed upon. This globally significant agreement creates a free trade area with a market of some 640 million consumers, which accounts for one third of world gross domestic product (GDP).

Catalan agri-food exports up 4.02% in the first half of 2019, year on year
If we compare the same period of 2017 (January to June), the year when exports were slightly higher than 2018, we see that in terms of agri-food exports, Catalonia is 0.85% above value and 0.41% below volume.

The impact of Brexit on Catalan agri-food exports
31 January 2020. A definitive date for Brexit has now been set. Boris Johnson's absolute majority has ratified the Prime Minister's plan for the United Kingdom to move decidedly towards leaving the European Union. However, although we now know when Brexit will happen, a lot has yet to be resolved, especially for export companies.
